Why is the drug here:
A steroidal drug used in pediatrics.

Purpose of treatment:
In most cases, the treatment will be recommended by the pediatrician in case of stridor or wheezing / asthma attack in older children who’s weight less suitable for receiving dissolving tablets (they need many tablets…)
- Ingredients: The active ingredient is called prednisolone.

How to use:
It is difficult to determin an all-inclusive dose, but treatment is usually not given in a daily dose of more than 2 milligrams per kilogram of the child’s body weight. Usually the daily dose will be divided twice a day.

Benefits:
The big advantage is that the active steroid in this drug, relative to other steroids used, crosses the blood-brain barrier less, and as such, cause less side effects of irritability and restlessness in children.
However, the drug has a major drawback- an almost unbearable taste.

Side Effects:
The great disadvantage of this syrup is the almost unbearable taste. This is why despite its advantage (less crossing the blood-brain barrier and side effects in the child) this drug is not widely used in children.
