Eruption hematoma (eruption cyst)

Eruption hematoma (eruption cyst)

Eruption Hematoma or eruption cyst can appear before a tooth erupts in children at all ages – in infants, as deciduous (baby) teeth begin to appear and in older children when their permanent teeth are close to eruption. It is situated around the emerging tooth.

What is the treatment for eruption cyst?

There is no need for a specific treatment, neither is there a need to aid the tooth in its eruption. Very rarely will there be an indication to open the cyst and in most cases it will absorb and the tooth will erupt normally.
My general recommendation is for all children to be monitored by a paediatric dentist from the eruption of their first tooth, as you will find in the following link.
