A basic combination of antibiotics that covers skin bacteria and steroids.
Purpose of treatment:
For the treatment of dermatitis caused by a combination of local inflamation and bacterial infection.
Ingredients: A combination of antibiotics called fusidic acid and a steroid called betamethasone.
How to use:
Apply to the affected area 3 times a day, usually for a limited number of days. Do not apply to the facial area.
The advantage of this cream is the fact that it is a combination that contains antibiotics that nicely cover skin bacteria. The relative disadvantage is that it is a potent steroid and therefore the use is limited to short courses of 3-5 days and should not be applied to the facial area..
The main side effects are related to the fact that this cream has a relatively potent steroid and therefore – should not be applied to the facial skin and should not be treated beyond 3-5 days in a row.
Another word from the doctor:
As with any topical steroid treatment I recommend consulting your doctor if there is room to consider continuing to apply beyond the specified range of days.
