Clinical pictures – PFAPA tonsillitis

PFAPA is an acronym for Periodic fever, Aphthous, Pharyngitis (tonsillitis with exudates, see image attached), Adenitis – swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck.

PFAPA typically presents at ages 2-5 years, but can affect all different age groups, including young adults.
